The Hub
This 485,000 square-foot, 12-story residential building on State Street in downtown Madison includes first floor retail space and two levels of parking. It also features numerous project amenities including a rooftop deck with a pool and two hot tubs, a second floor outdoor amenity space with a sand volleyball court and Jumbo Tron, outdoor and indoor gathering spaces, a band room, and a fitness center. The majority of the structural framing consists of cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete flat slabs supported by concrete columns and shear walls. Due to the unique geometry of the building, the PE team worked closely with the architect to study unit layouts and column layouts. This allowed PE to maximize the number of parking spaces by strategically locating transfer beams.
