Morning Star Lutheran Church
New 16,000 square-foot sanctuary and gathering space addition. Structure consists of a combination of conventional wood framing, masonry shear walls, and exposed glulam framing. In the sanctuary, two main glulam beams span between massive masonry piers. The glulam beams support glulam framing from the sides of the sanctuary, as well as the main clerestory roof above. The sanctuary clerestory roof has dimensional lumber rafter framing with exposed steel tie rods which create an architectural rhythm connecting the sanctuary and the gathering space.
