This project is a five-story, compositely-framed office structure, with retail space on the ground floor. It has a trapezoidal footprint of approximately 6,500 square feet per floor and abuts an existing wood and masonry building. The moment frames used for lateral load resistance were designed to be extremely stiff, due to the proximity to the existing building.
Pile foundations were used due to the poor site soils, and to avoid surcharge loads on the basement wall of the existing building.
This project features a rooftop deck.
