Farm Foundation’s new Innovation and Education Center, in Libertyville, IL has clean, modern aesthetics grounded in forms inspired by the Foundation’s historic white barn. Modern technology and refined details provide an adaptive collaboration space and form an integrated food and agriculture campus. Vaulted cathedral ceilings and expansive visual connections to the surrounding landscape required thoughtful structural systems. Economical wood scissor trusses supported on an open structural steel frame blend time-honored barn construction concepts with modern materials to deliver value and a dramatic visual impact.
