This former Milwaukee Public Schools building was renovated into 39 multifamily units. While the “bones” of the building were generally in good condition, the building had many challenges: a mature tree growing in an interior light well, a glulam structure charred from a previous fire, and bricks falling from the parapet and façade. The structural efforts included detailing and design for a new elevator shaft, misc. lintels for interior openings, and review of existing framing for adequacy and condition.
