Brix Apartment Lofts

Completed in 2015, the Brix Apartment Lofts is the adaptive re-use of the former Ziegler Candy Factory. Originally constructed in 1907, the building is listed as one of the first to have a reinforced concrete skeleton frame. The seven-story,156,000 square feet building was renovated to have parking in the basement level, restaurant and retail at the main level, parking on the second floor, and residential units for the remaining floors. The parking at the basement and second-floor levels is accessible through the new parking structure that was constructed to the west of the historic building. The Brix parking structure has a public park at the top level which has a blue-green roof for rainwater storage following rain events.
